Kindley Screws up his blog Site…Big Time
So, I blew up my blog site while trying to make it more cool. Ended up deleting ev-er-y-thing. What a bozo! If it looks different, it is. I’m working to put it back together, but that means no post on Monday.
You can help! If you don’t see your blog listed in the blog roll, leave a link and I’ll include it. Some I can remember, some not.
You might want to change your links to my site, while your at it. It’s now, http://www.galenkindley.com/blog.htm. The change is the ending: drop the "blog/" and add "blog.htm".
Okay, back to work.
Oh, should any of you want some technical web type help, give ma a call. Hmmm. Why is the phone silent?
Thanks, Galen—who just haaaaaaaad to tinker and tweak.

You must have worked all day on this! It looks great, Galen. Except…well, that clown picture on today’s blog scares me. A lot…

Aww, isn’t that terrible. Isn’t there some way you can get back the stuff you posted?
But I do agree with Elizabeth – the new site does look really cool.
Oh! That stinks. Looks like you’re getting it up again.
So sorry, Galen. But I’d still call you for a techie issue. Look how fast you got this up and running again. My blog is: http://www.karenfollowingthewhispers.blogspot.com
I do believe you had me on your blog roll before. Hope you still want to….
Karen
Ha – brother I can SO relate to that! Better you than me – this time.
But hey – looks good so far. I’m at http://theoldsilly.com
The Old Silly
I hate it when stuff like that happens. It looks like you have things back under control – your blog is looking good. Now I am going to go change your link so I don’t miss anything.

Ouch big time. Glad you’re back in the driver’s seat, however, as I really enjoy your oddball comments and humor. I’m with Elizabeth on this one, though, clowns scare me.
I, too, can relate. I’ve had some near disastrous experiences with just this type of thing lately. But I guess the Interweb gods were feeling generous, because they let me off with a warning.
On the upside, your blog looks dandy!
The site looks wonderful! My small knowledge of how these things actually work means I stay away from ‘fiddling’. The result is a rather dull-looking blog, but there it is. I have a high level of admiration for people like yourself who are much more computer-savvy. I’m still amazed that I can be in instant contact with people world-wide. It’s magic, I say. Magic.
The blog looks great. It took a while to load and I was going to tell you what a great job you did on it, then… I’ll tell you how sorry I am you lost everything. (But it still looks great.) There are sites that will back up your blog. I just copy all my posts into a word file so I have a copy of all those.

And what was wrong with the old one??LOL I want to be a follower of you but you don’t have a regular one I can link to?? I am so used to Blogger’s way!
Elizabeth, this particular clown–and some of his buddies–chopped up my blog. I’m afraid of him, too.
Thanks to Elizabeth, I’m using Live Writer to compose my posts, Natasha. They save an auto copy on my computer. I tossed a few of them up so it wouldn’t be completely empty and so that maybe some might be re-read, or, read for the first time. You read about the Spartans, for example. All good.
Hi, Carolyn. Yeah, does smell pretty bad. Welcome back, btw.
Well, Karen Walker, if you’re gonna let me do tech work, then you truly do have faith.
Hey, Marv, thanks for stopping by. I do know you can relate.
Thanks, Jane, not that you’d be missing much. Your post today was great, by the way.
You know, Karen Brees, there’s an actual medical phobia about fear of clowns…and I mean regular happy clowns. Odd, huh/
Hey, Jack. Yeah I saw your new look web site. I like it. Of course, you’re a handsome guy and can afford to be a centerfold. Me, not so much. Well, depends, maybe for fat, old, bald guy magazine.
Elspeth, be happy in your simplicity. I think Thoreau talked about that, huh?
Hi, Helen, thanks. I think the slow loading might be due to the sitemeter gadget. It started acting up last week and I pulled it out. Maybe it doing it again. I’ve got good old Statcounter waiting in the wings just in case.
Terri, Terri, Terri. It’s a guy thing. Of course there was nothing wrong with the old blog. Guys just have to “fix stuff,” particularly when nothing is wrong with the stuff.
Thanks to you all for stopping by.
Nice to know I’m not the only semi-illiterate techie in the world. I don’t worry about it too much though. That’s what I have a computer geek son for. LOL.
Julee, is your son available for hire??? (Grin)
He should be – he could use the extra cash! LOL!
Galen – I feel your pain. I recently gave “facelifts” to my blogs. Lots of work and in the blink of an eye it can all vanish. Ummmmm…voice of experience…beware of changing urls (sigh). Messes with the links to the blog through places like networked blogs – it won’t pick up the feed or link right for your Facebook followers. BTW, the blog looks great tonight! Congrats!
