Dead Man Ridin’

I promised more nonsensical information…I’m a man of my word.  The guy in the picture is as dead as they get.

You can’t click to another site now, can you???? No, of course not.  This is an example of a “grab ‘em” opening. Yes, the writing connection is tenuous, but it’s there.  Besides, you know this blog is like one of those car accidents that you don’t want to look at, but when you get to the scene, you just can’t look away.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) – A funeral home in Puerto Rico that made international headlines two years ago is at it again.

Marin Funeral Home has embalmed the body of a young man and put the corpse atop a motorcycle in a hunched-over racing position. The body wears a black cap, black sunglasses and a long-sleeved black T-shirt.

Local television station WAPA says the unidentified 22-year-old shooting victim will be buried Wednesday.

Calls to the funeral home were not returned Tuesday.

Two years ago, the funeral home embalmed a 24-year-old man and kept the body standing upright for during the three-day wake

For those of you who must have more, I bring you… Ta Da… the video.

All this raises the question, how would you liked to be posed once dead?  Hands on keyboard?  Reading a book? Selling books?

I’d like posed with my favorite fly rod during the middle of a great cast.  On the river is where I hope to be when I die, so, it should be easy for the funeral guys.  Yes, this is a new low—even for me.

Pose me standing on my head and make ‘em wonder!

  2. That is so odd!
Okay, pose me in the front seat of a roller coaster with my hands up!

  3. Okay, part of me wants to say WTF? Excuse the abbreviated profanity, but why would they want to do this in the first place?

Since I want to have the cheapest and quickest funeral possible, I don’t think I’d like to be posed in any particular way. I’m dead already, toss me out like yesterday’s newspaper.

Weird post, Galen – even for you LOL.

Crazy idea! But very interesting. At least it makes the funeral less sad…

    Really Angelic

  5. Okay – there’s a topic I never thought about! I guess I’d want to be posed in some great yoga pose that I could never I could never get my body into in real life.

Very interesting! I love this sort of stuff – the variety in human nature is fascinating, eh?
Galen – my guy just came in with the mail and in it – your novel! Hurrah! Can’t wait to get at it. You may have noticed that I haven’t been around much – trying to keep my head down and finish the draft of ‘True’. I should have the draft finished in eight days and then I’m going to let it ‘cure’ for a fortnight and then on to revisions. So, I’m doing my Friday Challenge and very little else blog wise but I’ll be back soon. Especially if you’re going to put dead people on your site!
