Romantic Times Magazine...4 Stars
In his stunning debut,
Galen Kindley writes an unconventional love story transporting readers to
American and Korean history. In prose as poetic as the culture it
depicts, Mr. Kindley has created a touching novel filled with hauntingly
beautiful scenes, intriguing characters, and raw emotion.

HEARTS OF THE MORNING CALM is brimming with Korean culture, prejudice,
obstacles, and is a deeply touching love story. It reached out
and grabbed my heart and touched it right from the beginning. This is a very
well written book and Mr. Kindley is an author to keep an eye on. Kudos
to Mr. Kindley on an excellent debut novel that will stay in the reader’s
heart long after they turn the last page. I highly recommend HEARTS OF THE
MORNING CALM.

Writer's Digest Criticism Service
(Hearts of the Morning Calm)
I was thoroughly enthralled by this story.
It is rare that such a well-written book comes across my critiquing desk. I
loved the Kwang Young character. She was sweet and smart, sharp yet
loving, the kind of woman all of us dream of emulating.

The Road to Romance
(Hearts of the Morning Calm)
A wonderfully compelling love story, one that
needs telling. Mixed in with the talented writing are unknown facts,
making a rich blend of romance as well as history. This one is worth
reading.
